Built by a landlord, for landlords
RentBase started the way a lot of good ideas do — out of frustration. As a landlord in Ontario, I spent years tracking rental expenses in spreadsheets. Every receipt got scanned, every expense got manually categorized, and every spring I'd spend a weekend wrestling my data into the CRA T776 format.
I looked for something better, but everything I found was either built for the American market (Schedule E, USD, miles) or was a bloated enterprise platform that cost more than my rental income justified.
So I built what I wished existed: a simple, modern tool designed specifically for Canadian landlords. One that speaks our language — T776, not Schedule E. Kilometres, not miles. CAD, not USD.
What we stand for
Canadian owned and operated
RentBase is independently owned and operated in Canada. We're not a US company with a Canadian add-on — this product was built from the ground up for the Canadian rental market.
Your data stays in Canada
Your financial data is stored and processed on Canadian servers. We believe your data belongs to you, and it should stay in your country.
Built for real landlords
We're landlords too. Every feature in RentBase exists because a real landlord needed it. We don't build features for investor pitch decks — we build features that save you time.
Always improving
RentBase is actively developed and regularly updated. We listen to landlord feedback and ship improvements frequently. This isn't abandonware — it's a living product.
